VOCALS, GUITAR: Bobby O (Robert Michael Ormsby) – No doubt Bobby’s reputation as a fierce guitarist was a big reason why he’s been able to attract such a great touring group. He studied music at California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) on a Vickie Carr Scholarship where he majored in musical composition. Along the way he opened shows for Canned Heat, Iron Butterfly and played with Antonio Carlos Jobim, The Hues Corporation, Ike Turner Revue, various members of the original Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band, and many others. On being introduced to Buddy Arnold in the early 90’s and the Musicians Assistance Program, Bobby has dedicated himself to using his awesome musical talent to help others recover from the terrors of addiction and move on to lead successful, substance-free lives. In addition he became a popular and effective substance-abuse counselor, first for 17 years at Acton Rehab Center, and for the last 3 years at Warm Springs Rehab Center. More recently he’s made referrals and received them from Music Cares of NARAS
KEYBOARDS: David Lewis – David was born in Seattle, and moved to California at age 19 to attend Cal Arts, where he studied classical, jazz and modern piano. It was here that he and Bobby O first met. After his stint at Cal Arts he played with the well known jazz/fusion group Ambrosia and in 1989, he won a Grammy for “Best New Age Performance”. He was also a member of Shadowfax, where he was a major writing collaborator. He also played and recorded with musical luminaries like: Edgar Winter, Billy Preston, Al Stewart, Stephen Bishop, Gary Wright, Terry Sylvester (The Hollies), John Ford Coley, The Doobie Brothers, Michael Hedges and others.
BASS: Jesse Vasquez – provides the funky bass for the Bobby O Band. He’s played with The Coasters, The Platters, The Drifters, and recorded and toured with War, Tierra, Malo, El Chicano and been a session player with Natalie Cole and Eric Gale. He’s an all round great player with 35 years experience.
DRUMS: Joshua Eagan – Josh’s percussion/drum ability comes as no surprise given his father, Rudi Eagan, was guest conductor for Count Basie’s Orchestra, and also worked with Sammy Davis Jr., Louie Prima and Sarah Vaughan amongst many others. Josh played/recorded with Masami Okui, along with Billy Sheehan and Steven Lukather. He’s also played/recorded with Pink and Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones). Josh now holds down the beat for the Bobby O Band.
