Laurel Moore/OneLadyJazz (UK)
''I love singing so much that I'm sure I was born singing. I can't go through a whole day without singing.''
Music has always been an integral part of my life. Being part of the church choir was a haven for me at a very young age. I began on the piano then was encouraged to learn the accordion professionally at the age of 12. Although I learnt music to a reasonable level, I always felt driven to play by ear. College days saw me busking (singing/saxing) with a Jazz Band. There I was talent-scouted by a hotel-manager to play some gigs.
Years later I came back to the Tenor Saxophone again. I felt such a strong connection with this instrument. In a courageous moment, a few years ago, I threw away all my music/chord charts/keys and decided to play by ear, no matter what, no matter where it did or didn't take me. I don't regret that decision. It's both terrifying and exhilarating to play like this.
For the last 15 years I've quietly been working hard on my Art and Music and Singing at moorethanart.com.
As a vocalist, I would say it has taken this time to find my own Jazz Voice. There's always more to learn and further to climb. There's always that feeling of walking a fine tight-rope between challenge and frustration -of searching for more: more colours, more depth, more feeling. So I like that my surname is now Moore!
I discovered Steve's astonishing playing on an online music site, where he is regarded as one of the top guitarists in Canada. I was blown-away by the depth and sensitivity of his emotional playing. ''Another Gray Day'' was the first song we wrote together in 2013.
Steve writes the original song and plays guitar. It's a rare gift that he then is able to share this whole project with me, allowing me a free-hand to put my own vision onto his songs. So I usually add vocals, my tenor saxophone and any number of other instruments I like to tinker with, plus sometimes some sound-effects.
I think because I approach my music as a painter, I like to think in terms of layers of sound, just as you would add layers to a canvas. With this musical paintbrush, I attempt to create beautiful soundscapes and meaningful soulful songs that touch people and immerse them in the landscape of the music.
''Laurel Moore is a notable new Jazz Singer and Saxophonist'' (New Jersey Jazz Society Magazine)

STEVE PARISIEN (CANADA)
''Music has and always will be a part of me''.
Multi-instrumentalist Steve Parisien is regarded as one of the top guitar players in Canada. As a song-writer Steve Parisien writes beautiful heart-felt songs using improvisation as the basis for his music. And you'll find him right at the top of the charts, in many of the worlds top jazz sites.
I grew up in the music business that my father had and started learning the piano at the age of 5. By the time I was 8 years old I had learned the organ and my father used me as a sales-tool to sell instruments! It was one of those 'look, if this young child can play, so can you!' things, and it apparently worked. All I knew was, I was having a lot of fun performing.
Whilst learning the conservatory system, I truly learned what music was all about from my father, who recognized then nurtured my ability to play by ear. I soon began performing at local T.V. shows, fairs, and shopping centres.
By the time I was 13, I had a real interest in the guitar, which has remained with me ever since.
For a long time, I just wrote my own arrangements of different tunes - but came to realize recently, that I really should write my own material. A few musician friends of mine had commented, 'it's about time'!
My passion now is writing music, and get no greater pleasure than having someone else do their own interpretation of my work.
Laurel Moore is one of those wonderfully talented people I speak of. Her ability in writing lyrics along with her silky smooth voice and the connection to that of my compositions keeps me 'pumped up' in continuing to write.

''We hope you enjoy this, our first original album together. It's been a pleasure writing these tunes and we look forward to writing more together soon......' Steve and Laurel.

Greg Freeman

Greg Freeman, whose interviews and authoritative writing have highlighted the careers of Grammy Award winners and music legends for more than a decade, is excited about the release of his first radio single, “Sunlight and Shadows.”  Having garnered airplay on a syndicated show in India and Dubai in November 2014, the song has generated positive feedback from near and far, and Freeman feels that it’s time to take the song to the masses.

Freeman acknowledges that his brand of country music is different from the fray. “Change is inevitable in all genres of music. Younger artists are constantly coming up with more progressive styles and often edgier content,” Freeman says, “…but I think there’s room in every genre for all sorts of creativity, and one need not fit certain stereotypes or push boundaries to please lovers of good music. I incorporate both traditional and contemporary styles into my writing and recording, and listeners will gravitate to what they enjoy, regardless of who is topping the charts or receiving the most airplay.”

Known in Nashville circles and elsewhere for writing gospel/contemporary Christian songs, Freeman, like many recording artists and writers, is versatile and not easily defined by musical style. Considering that his catalogue is almost entirely gospel music, it’s perhaps even more interesting that his first commercial release would be a country song. That said, Freeman—who frequently collaborates with Dove Award-winning gospel artist Babbie Mason and has co-written two country songs with multiple Emmy Award winner Cheryl Rogers (who produced a track on the Grammy Award-winning Tribute:  The Songs of Andrae Crouch)—describes “Sunlight and Shadows” as an upbeat, stop-and-smell-the-roses song, and he is confident that music lovers will find its message and sound infectious.

“My intention with ‘Sunlight and Shadows’ is not unlike my gospel songs,” Freeman says, adding, “My songwriting is a form of self-expression, quite often very personal and introspective, and I suspect that fans of my country songs will enjoy my gospel material and vice versa.  At least, that’s what I’m hoping for.”

Bio:

Qualia was formed in 2014 by Michael Hazani as a musical refuge from his daytime

gig as a freelance songwriter/producer for hire. The band's debut, "This Is the

Color of My Dreams", was released in 2014 and quickly garnered online buzz for

its uncompromising lyricism and musicality, as well as the immersive, interactive

3d songscapes that accompanied the singles. In the same year Qualia (in band

formation) toured the East Coast, broadened its reach and won the John Lennon

Innovators In Music Competition, which led to a special performance at Berklee

College of Music (of which all band members are alumni).

Qualia's upcoming EP, "Triptych", takes on a more organic approach while staying

faithful to the integrity, imagination and drama of the band's previous music;

now located in Seattle, Hazani plays Qualia shows utilizing a solo electronic

setup and plans to tour the West Coast throughout 2015.

Maja 7th

The producer of hip-hop music from Indiana known as Maja 7th has released his latest official LP record, “Get Familiar.” The full-length album comprises 14 original tracks for an approximate listening time of a full hour. Widely varied, absolutely packed with back beats and bass, and showcasing some of the best rappers and urban poets from the American Midwest, “Get Familiar” from Maja 7th is one of the best reasons for fans of rap music to acquaint themselves with this secret legend of the hip-hop studio now.
Another of excellent reason is the bevy of distinguished performers assembled by Maja 7th for “Get Familiar.” In addition to his own already considerable skills, the new LP features the talents of such popular artists of the hip-hop underground as (in order of appearance) Freddie Gibbs, Mikkey Halstead, Ill Brown, Waterr, Bubby B & $auce, Starrs & Murph, Re@l Talk, Sulaiman, Vic Spencer, Simeon, Mathien, Griffen, KYM, L.E.P. Bogus Boys, Pill, Scheme, Add-2, Mike Schpitz, Neak, Dave Coresh, and Dominique LaRue.
Maja 7th himself cites as artistic influences Outkast, the Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Scarface and Common.
“I think Organized Noize is absolutely brilliant, too,” notes the producer. “They have influenced me a lot.”
Maja 7th started in hip hop at his home digital audio workstation as an independent music artist. His new “Get Familiar” LP keeps this tradition by being likewise published outside the control of the corporate music industry. This allows him leeway to exercise his palpably unique style, which derives much of its kaleidoscopic groove from greats in other genres, such as B.B. King, Al Green and James Brown. He credits his mother for his passion for jazz, too, the creative textures of which find their way into many of the best tracks on “Get Familiar.”
Speaking of the record’s perfectly apropos title and overall theme, Maja 7th writes that the record is “really just to get people familiar with who I am. I wanted to highlight some of the things I’ve done to get to this point and also release some new material.”
Maja 7th’s direct manner of communication, smoothed by humility and heaps of IQ, is indicative of the general tone of “Get Familiar.” The record stands out for its straight-up speech, unstoppable flow, and a whole lot of class.
“New people I meet always ask me, ‘What have you done?’” writes Maja 7th. “So I thought it would be a good idea to show them.”
Maja 7th was a key producer for Wu-Tang affiliate Killah Priest’s “Almighty: Original S.I.N.” album, which featured M-Eighty, Bronze Nazereth, Son One, C-Rayz Walz, and 5 Star. His first solo project is still highly acclaimed: “The Breakout,” a record which helped bring to the public eye many of Chicago’s best-loved underground rappers of today. These include Freddie Gibbs, Mikkey Halsted, Pill, the L.E.P Bogus Boys, GLC, YP and others, many of whom appear also on this latest release of “Get Familiar.” Maja 7th’s official music video for “On My Own,” featuring Freddie Gibbs and Mikkey Halsted, appeared on MTV JAMS in 2010.
“Get Familiar” by Maja 7th is available online worldwide. Get in early, hip-hop fans around the world. Very early.

YULIANNA - "TRUE LOVE" FOR HER LISTENERS

YULIANNA -  "TRUE LOVE" FOR HER LISTENERS

“I believe in true love, taking me high, higher than I’ve ever been before”

Pop songstress, Yulianna, returns with a powerful new single, “True Love.” Already a praised vocalist and songwriter, Yulianna had a stellar 2014 with a tracks climbing up Billboards Electro Dance charts and opportunities to tour the world with her dynamic stage presence and hard hitting dance tracks. Her last album, “Popra,” was an eclectic mix of styles that featured everything from electro synths to hints of opera and sultry pop ballads. The critically acclaimed collection of songs was featured in online publications from POPDOSE to Pause and Play, garnering even more attention with features in Russian American Magazine. Rolling Stone, and The Phuket News as she toured across the world. With the success of “Popra” fresh in everyone’s mind, she ventured back into the studio with producer Jeff Blue (Linkin Park, Macy Gray and owner of Rock Shop Music Group) to further define her sound with an up-coming release.

Her new single, “True Love” is a cleverly constructed take on never giving up on true love despite the avalanche of chaos it can often possesses. This pop jam features a breakneck electronic chorus with stunning vocals and colourful arrangements; grafting the shouts of “I believe in true love, taking me high, higher than I’ve ever been before” into your mind. The melody soars atop the sucker-punch of a hook that hammers the message home, building a groove inspiring song that encompasses an actual storyline. Yulianna’s trademark mix of authentic lyrics and bumping beats crafts a light-hearted yet full bodied sound that still allows her audience to twirl around the dance floor. Be sure to take a listen to Yulianna’s hooky new single, “True Love,” now!

Mirage Box

Mirage Box is a place where magic happens, where illusions seem real, where the oasis is lavish, inviting and tantalizing. It is where secrets are kept, truths are told, dreams come alive, and where imaginative music thrives.

Mirage Box's music has been described as "modern retro"; a celebration for the great songwriting and music production of the artist heyday of the late 60s and through the 70s. Mirage Box's music and writing style reflects the various flavors of pop and rock music of the classic rock era, from lush ballads to psychedelic trippyness, high-energy rock to playful punk, Chicago soul, Prog Rock, a dash of metal and liberal vocal harmonies. Mirage Box's music production employs many of the classic sounds and instruments of the by-gone era, but with a modern slant. Mirage Box aims to create soundscapes, painting scenes with music that takes listeners on journeys. Fans of album rock and headphone audiophiles will appreciate Mirage Box's compositions.

Mirage Box is a creative collaboration between Nick Coppola, a prolific songwriter and lyricist, and Chris Capozza, a multi-instrumentalist audio engineer and music producer. Mirage Box seeks to be indefinable to one genre of music. Influenced by The Beatles, Elton John, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Yes, Kansas, Genesis, Dream Theater, CS&N, The Who, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Sex Pistols, Chicago, Styx, Asia, Jim Croce, Jimmy Buffet, Soundgarden, Boston and Steely Dan, writers Nick and Chris combine various styles as the vehicles of their original music, often employing Mellotrons, MiniMoogs, B3s and Leslies, Taurus Pedals, doublenecks, Rickenbackers, Hofners, Les Pauls, Telecasters as well as orchestral and brass sections to create epic music, brimming with melodies, countermelodies, cannons, counterpoints and lush vocal harmonies. There is something for everyone in Mirage Box's music, and always new elements to be discovered.

So put on the headphones, turn down the lights, sit back, relax and join us on a musical journey as we present the contents in the Mirage Box.
