ALT ROCK POWERHOUSE, TURNCOAT SYNDICATE, JOINS BRINK RECORDS  

Norfolk, VA - City of Sound (April 2016) – Brink Records is thrilled to announce the signing of hard Alt rockers Turncoat Syndicate. Turncoat Syndicate is a driving four piece that has developed a solid following in the Southeast over the last couple of years thanks to satisfyingly crunchy recordings and dynamic live shows. They have been nominated for several regional awards and will be featured in the forthcoming film City of Sound, directed by renowned video director Tremayne Johnson. Turncoat Syndicate’s signing resulted from Brink’s ongoing New Artist Search.

Their EP Mourning Star Turncoat Syndicate has received significant regional play on alt rock radio and podcast support and is now being added at stations elsewhere. Brink is adding additional support for Mourning Star immediately, ahead of the national release of multiple singles and new videos in the summer and fall of 2016, leading up to the release of the Turncoat’s first full length album. 

Prior to the signing, Brink did a radio test with several tracks and received a 100% positive response from several rock/alt rock stations surveyed across the US. “Based on those early responses,” said Drew Little, Head of A&R, “we expect Turncoat Syndicate to get extensive radio play. They have broad appeal among rock fans, DJs, and PDs and they have several singles that we think will do very well with the right support. Add to that several good quality and visually interesting videos and I think they are going to reach a whole lot of fans.” 

Turncoat Syndicate has been favorably compared to many of the icons of alt rock including Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, and more. They have several festival dates booked for the near future and will be adding tour dates soon. In the meantime they will be finishing the new album and shooting new videos.

As a native "West-Sider," musician Kenne Heard is tapping into his talents and his musical mantra of, “Whatever ItTakes, Anytime.” Kenne, also known as Kenne Wita E, has converted his message into the hip-hop hashtag; #WITA. With this positive attitude and altruism, Kenne is releasing his debut,Whatever It Takes Anytime.

Within Whatever It Takes, Kenne Wita E treks through eight all-original tracks which encompass trap, hip-hop, dance and R&B flavored tunes. The compositions all contain his#WITA attitude and a musical message that, "Honest and hard work pays off, even if you take the time to have fun." Kenne explains the creative goals behind his EP, “I’m as serious about my businesses as an entrepreneur as I am about my music. At the same time, I remember to have fun.”

Whatever It Takes Anytime, reflects Kenne’s musical influences, which run the gamut from artists such as R.Kelly and Fabolous, to Kid Ink and Logic. Key tracks include the feel-good, catchy, club flavor of “Boom (Feat. Dani Wita I).” The tune showcases feature the vocal prowess of Dani Wita I and the impeccable production skills of Cincinnati producer Natown. “Level” grabs attention with its trap style and tightly crafted lyrical hooks that motivate and prove that indeed, Kenne can take it to another level. “Figures” is a third ‘must-hear’ cut on the EP, as Kenne shows he can slow it down into an R&B flavored soundscape and storyline.Kenne Wita E explains, “That song talks about making money honestly, ‘stackin’ em’ figures’ with style, you can do both and still succeed!”

In Whatever It Takes Anytime, Kenne Wita E harnesses his muses, his mantra, and also his business college experience in marketing. “Any business must also be altruistic and give back,” he offers. He has chosen a portion of his EP sales to go toward the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative. The Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, (CYC,) combats the childhood poverty rate and empowers vulnerable students to overcome obstacles and graduate high school, prepared for success. Kenne Wita E is proud to give back to his community using his artistic talents, his business skills, and of course, he is willing to do “Whatever It Takes, Anytime.”

Amping it up with their latest release, 3 Kisses brings you “Cardboard Cutouts” – an edgier, more intense installment of their signature American Party Punk.  Tish raises the bar with this batch of compelling lyrics and captivating melodies backed by the rock-solid performance of Ian Gallagher and Carly Serencha on bass and Chris and Paul Newlin on guitar and drums.  Long-time friend and producer, Eric LaBrosse throws in his magic to bring this polished group of tunes to larger-than-life status.

Danette Daniels featuring the Jim Menzel Project

The Jim Menzel Project consists of Jim Menzel on guitars and songwriting, Danette Daniels on Vocals, Gary Lickness on Bass guitar and Vaughn Link on drums.  The members have played in various bands with each other, before forming the Jim Menzel Project.  We recorded the CD "Midnite Shadows" in the fall and winter of 2013.

Jim Menzel has been playing Guitar and writing songs for many years. He has played in many cover and original music bands. He draws inspiration for the rich music scene in Minneapolis, as well as many other areas. 60's, 70's and 80's music flavor the mix. He draws upon many styles of music including, Soul, Hard Rock, Rock, Blues and Pop.

 Danette Daniels is the Vocalist. And what a vocalist she is. She has sang with a number of bands, including the Driveline Band with Jim. Her powerful vocals, set the JMP apart. Gary Lickness is the Bass guitarist. He has played in many bands, including Big Daddy and the B-3's with Jim. Vaughn Link plays the Drums. He is in a band with Gary.
